Il coreografo Saburo Teshigawara, uno dei massimi esponenti della danza in Giappone, si presta per la prima volta ad un ritratto videografico. Tra Parigi, Lille, Tokyo e Yokohama, ci immergiamo nel mondo e nell'arte di questo personaggio misterioso, scoprendo i significati dietro alle movenze, le scenografie, ed i costumi che disegna lui stesso. Il documentario rivela le esperienze che hanno formato le
scelte e lo stile unico di Teshigawara, portandoci sul palco delle sue performance, ed alle prove di due nuovi spettacoli, Kazahana e Prelude for Dawn, quest'ultimo interpretato da giovani non-vedenti.

The Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara, major artist in his country, has for the first time agreed to a film depicting his remarkable work. In Paris, Lille, Tokyo and Yokohama, the film plunges into the artist's world raising important questions around his art. We embark on a quest to discover what lies at the origin of gesture in the prolific work of this mysterious man who is also acknowledged
as an outstanding dancer, designer of his own costumes and sets, and video artist. The film relates Teshigawara's fundamental experiences, which have definitely turned him towards his artistic choices and his unique body language. Sequences of dance and rehearsals of his two creations, Kazahana with professional dancers and Prelude for dawn with young visually impaired or blind persons, are interlaced with images of Japan resonating with Saburo Teshigawara’s spirit.
